Nov. 16th, 2010 12:51 pmProof of our daring expedition into the hinterlands. Here's Lock 36, the Kirkfield Lift Lock, which is a part of the retro method of getting from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron, the Trent-Severn Waterway.

This is actually the highest point in the Trent-Severn waterway, 256 meters above sea level. Here's the sun setting over the canal:

It was actually a very pleasant day but as the sun went down it got chilly out there. Oh yeah, here's what we brought out of "Tombstone Town".

Big pasteboard 2-level (the heart is die-cut revealing a second board)display for Schrafft's candy, circa 1959. I've seen these selling for four and five times what we paid for it, so yeah, it was worth the trip. Now we want candy all the time.
