davemerrillI am THIS CLOSE to finishing the Let's Anime piece about Starzan S. Gotta hack 200 words out of it, scan in a piece of art, and fake up a bogus historical entry for Tatsunoko's "Scout's Honor" series for a complicated Mad Men joke reference. It's worth it, I swear. Not going to even bring up the "Rats & Star" reference in the end credits, I'm just not going to go there.
Shain and I will be in Boston the same weekend as Anime Boston so we bugged Christian for passes and he asked, since Mike Toole was going to be in Japan that weekend, if I wouldn't like to do Anime Hell. So I'm doing Anime Hell in Boston! I love Boston and am pleased to give a little back to the community.
SO, I gotta get that Let's Anime piece done, gotta get Hell ready for AB, gotta get things together for Anime North, and somewhere in the middle of all that I have to get that comic story I've been working on, I have to get that pencilled and inked and scanned and toned and colored at some point this year. And looming over it all is AWA.
I'm doing a lot less drawing this year than I was getting done last year; last year I kind of kicked my ass to get at least one drawing done every day, and I kept that up until July, but after July it went straight to hell. But I'm not gonna beat myself up over it. I got things to do.
Weather's been really pleasant. Haven't had a big dump of snow (yet) and the temps have been right above freezing. It's going to get cool again for Valentine's Day, but so far we've avoided the deep-freeze locker we were dealing with in early 2015.
We watched BIRDMAN which is great, SPECTRE which just kind of lies there, and THE SEARCH FOR GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN which is great and will make you want Chinese food.

It's not like Galatt where you can almost sum it up as "A show born 20 years too early".

Date: 2016-02-03 12:14 am (UTC)I usually find I can kill 50 words just by taking a pass through the piece and streamlining the phrasing, finding more efficient ways to get the point across, and finding sentences left over from early drafts that haven't been necessary since Version 2, but somehow survived.
