Found Sound over at Mister Kitty has both sides of the Yusei Shonen Papi / Prince Planet Sonorama I picked up in Tokyo while in Tokyo. Go and give it a listen, it's kinda neat.

I know I've been remiss in completing the story of our trip, and I'm sorry. We did some neat stuff in the days I haven't detailed yet. But I've been super busy getting ready for AWA, getting ready for that SF flea market, you name it, it's taking up time. We're at the stage on the AWA message board where we're getting lots of questions, lots of SHFS table requests, and lots of spam-bots showing up to sell fake Louis Vuitton bags, and clearing that out takes time. Time I could be posting crazy pictures of Odaiba!

It's time to go to work so I won't be able to finish Stupid Comics until later tonight. Busy, busy, busy. I want to get a Let's Anime up before AWA, too. Maybe Sunday, I might have some time on Sunday, when I'm not drawing ZERO FIGHTER.

In other news, The Right Stuf has announced ROSE OF VERSAILLES is going to get an English-language North American DVD release, which is great news for fans of Japanese cartoons, shojo manga, European history, and culture in general. We've been watching another anime based on Riyoko Ikeda manga - DEAR BROTHER - on Viki, and have been enjoying the hell out of it, and I think it's swell that the anime version of Ikeda's masterpiece is finally going to make it to this market.

In the meantime... YUSEI SHONEN PAPI, won't you?

You know, at the least the message boards aren't the Facebook groups .. full of a lot of dumb questions from cosplayers who fail to read the faqs about peacebonding weapons, how not to do flash mobs inside the center/hotel and such. There are a few good souls though who try hard to pop in and remind people not to be idiots. BLess em. I gave up.


Scary how it's less than two weeks away. I"m not quite prepared as I ought to be or as able to just crank out stuff the way I used to. Typically I'd be trying to finish 3 new pieces in 2 weeks or something, but meh.

Apart from the spammers the AWA message boards have been pretty decent in the run-up to the show. It does seem like every year we get a few people who want to stage a giant group dance flash mob in the lobby, and a lot of first-timer questions about skits or Cosplay Chess, but we haven't had a huge flame war or a big drama explosion yet.

After the show it might get crazy, though.
