Workin' the mine of old Anime Jump reviews, today Let's Anime takes you to old London town and the adventures of Sherlock Holmes if he was a cartoon dog animated by Hayao Miyazaki. One more blog post this year and I will match 2010- and I intend to beat that record!!

Date: 2011-12-04 06:23 am (UTC)I have to say, the Miyazaki episodes are rather stand out compared to the others. There was an episode about kites (a very, very Japanese episode I might add) where at one point Moriarty engaged in some very American 'silly comedy time-killing running around and around' action. Mind, when that sort of thing happens in a Miyazaki episode there's a bazillion things going on and not just a repeated loop. You know what I mean. :)
Let's not neglect the famous Mrs. Hudson. Wowzers. And Sexual tension with Holmes so thick you could cut it with a knife and boil it.
I think there were a couple of subtle hints that Holmes' red-headed league was in place.
Man, those backgrounds are just fantastic. Just stunning.
You can't watch that 'airmail' episode, see Mrs. Hudson drive to the rescue and NOT be totally charmed and enthralled by the show.

There's no real way to explain it. It's perception I guess. Most would just look and not see any difference whatsoever.
