Snow returned to the TO today with a vengeance, dumping four or five inches of snow on us. It promptly melted and then froze and then about three hundred drivers all smashed into each other. Cars in the ditch, cars hitting buses, cars unable to get back up hills, cars on fire, you name it. Who knows where the plows and salt trucks were but they didn't make it out until after I endured a 3X-as-long commute. Of course the roads are fine, NOW.

There is a new ZERO FIGHTER strip up that was supposed to go up Sunday night but I got distracted. On the other hand, the FOUND SOUND this week is nothing BUT distraction. Witness:

Yes, another fake Chipmunks with fake Chipmunk versions of popular songs of the day. No wait these are SQUIRRELS, totally different!

In other news... watched several collections of sleazy movie trailers, a bad Bigfoot movie, a bad posessed child movie, a starts-off-promising-but-loses-steam-halfway-through mercenary movie, and a bunch of Panzer World Galient. And two educational videotapes produced by Nippon Steel Corporation about Japan And Its People And Customs. Have been digging through tapes and discs trying to find a short animated thing taped off Night Flight back in the day, so far no dice.

Had to get rid of the planter on the balcony due to unsightly soil emissions leaking down to the balcony below. Nobody had complained... YET. Not sure what we're going to replace it with. Something self-contained.

Nailing down panels and things for Anime North, which is coming up fast! Should be a good show this year and I will be kept busy with VIDEOSCOPE PRESENTATIONS (as we're calling the panels we do in the video rooms) and Anime Hell and hopefully I can snag a table at the Nominoichi and unload some more junk. Neil is flying in on Thursday and I guess we should think of something fun to do on Thursday with Neil.

This weekend: probably some OT, need a haircut, get the oil changed in the car... get that shelf up. Big goals!

"Rodent Invasion", that record seller in The Simpsons called it, IIRC.

Animated film from Night Flight? I only remember a couple of those myself.

Oh man, Grinning Evil Death was awesome. I *might* have something taped, what you looking for?

Never saw "Grinning Evil Death". I was looking for a thing about a hillbilly in a truck that had chickens for rent.

Wait, Grinning Evil Death? Wasn't that on MTV's Liquid Television? I know that came out on the DVD collection so it MUST have been ripped and thrown out onto the 'net.

Fuck me, I just realized that I wiped my rips of Liquid TV when I lent my hard drive to somebody. I know that had Grinning Evil Death on it, though...yeah, in the first episode.

We did some Liquid TV at Hell last year or two. Lee Press-On Limbs, that version of Koko's Earth Control with the funky music.

Also, the "starts-off-promising-but-loses-steam-halfway-through mercenary movie," which one was that?

The mercenary film was "The Last Grenade". Great cast, promising premise, lots of Sterling submachine guns, but never quite knows what to do or where to go. Well, it knows where it's going - everybody knows where the film is going - but it doesn't get there in a satisfying way.

Interesting. I was guessing it might be the Christopher Walken version of The Dogs of War...

I prefer The New Age Urban Squirrels, myself.

These little piggies may technically be latter art but most Brits probably think of Pinky and Perky when they overhear Alvin.
