I have the day off and I don't know what I'm gonna do with all this time! Other than clean the place up and get some strips done. It would be nice to have a backlog again.
Speaking of strips, there is a new Zero Fighter up to continue the mighty saga of elves, witches, warlocks, dragons, and the magical destiny that surrounds them all. Wait a minute, it has none of that.
Harvey Pekar is dead. Autobiographical comics pioneer, jazz critic, able to make David Letterman uncomfortable with just a few questions. An American original.
Yesterday we went out and did some junkin'. We got out to Mizeners just when the thunderstorm started and the lights went out. I don't know, but the musty, funky dusty nature of these places is really starting to get to me. Anyway Mizeners is officially Picked Over; the dealers don't seem to be getting anything interesting. In fact I think they all get their stuff from the same estate sale broker; at least two dealers had identical foreign Disney comics. We did go out to Freelton and they seem to have some turnover in junk; picked up a Little Dot bingo type game, a library edition of Ken Muse's book on cartooning and some other neat stuff. Also confirmed there isn't anything to eat on 6 between the 403 and Guelph, other than Tim's and an A&W. The weather was really nice, though; we took back roads all the way back from Guelph. That little patch of Ontario is so pretty in the summer!
This week I work days later in the week and that means I have to get up super early. The actual getting up early part is no problem, but I can never get to sleep the night beforehand. Modern pharmecuticals will be employed to assist me in this endeavour, I believe.
