Wrap your ears around American History, Archie style as Mr Kitty's Found Sound rocks us back in time as Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, and Big Moose (sorry, no Cricket O'Dell, Big Ethel or Souphead) demonstrate how they were vital players in the crucial moments of our nation's most interesting turning points! Also there are some really annoying Filmation voices.

That's right, it's THE U.S. OF ARCHIE, a 1974 series that got a good running start on the patriotic Bicentennial madness that was just then beginning to ensare the nation in its clammy, red-white-and-blue grip. Enjoy!

Date: 2010-07-09 05:26 am (UTC)The voices in the series were quite annoying indeed. I think the only guy I could tolerate was Howard Morris' voice for Jughead. Dal McKennon's Archie is so grating on the ears (sad he passed away just a year ago). Someone once told me the voices were partly inspired and/or taken from the "Archie Andrews" radio program that aired between 1943 to 1953.

That same year this show debuted, CBS began it's "Bicentennial Minutes", giving the folks at home every night a look at what happened on that day 200 years ago.
