and yet more fake sleaze
Apr. 10th, 2015 04:37 pmLook, I know comic books are largely trash for subliterate morons, but comic books don't have to keep rubbing our noses in it.
Stupid Comics is back again with a terrible 90s "bad girl" vampire comic crossed with a terrible 90s "fake manga" comic that pushes all the buttons of hacked-out cynical exploitation in a way that only the greed of the 90s can really highlight. Who bought these things? Why? Why were they made in the first place? Who knows? The answers will NOT be found at this week's Stupid Comics.
So what else have we been up to? I've been working on another Let's Anime review, been assembling footage for the Anime Hell presentation at the upcoming Anime North, swapping emails about both AN and AWA in an attempt to get panels and things sorted, been putting new headlights in the car and new stuff up on the Mister Kitty etsy and drawing something every day.
This weekend is the Ad Astra SF convention, and it's also supposed to be warm and sunny, and there's a "collectibles show" in Kitchener on Sunday, so we might drop in on Ad Astra or we might just go out to Kitchener and look at old junk and get some sun. I haven't decided. There's a whole bunch of straightening and cleaning and laundry and general housekeeping things that have been sort of sliding during the long, demoralizing winter that ought to be taken care of at some point, I think; that's probably Saturday. I've been putting a lot of stuff off (like, Anime Hell) for most of February and March, and now it's time to really get to work. See you in June, I guess.
