Terrible news about Philip Seymour Hoffman. Loved him in BOOGIE NIGHTS, loved him in CAPOTE, was great to see him working in films great and small, he's left us way too soon. WAY too soon. I hope they catch whoever sold him that junk and throw he or she off the Empire State Building.
On the other hand, life goes on. There is a Stupid Comics starring one of the Chic-Fil-A Cows who's now a superhero. Found Sound, for the next few days anyway, is a record from the Marine Corps with celebrities like the Everly Brothers telling you about how the Marines can build you into a man. There are updates to Behind the Blue Door and Georgie Girls - the Georgie Girls strip is particularly apt - and Zero Fighter.
There's also a Stupid Comics about Toka The Jungle King and how women drive him crazy.
Last weekend was, uh, had to work on Saturday, Sunday was the AN staff meeting, this weekend I met up with a Toronto anime fan from the 80s era and bought some old-school anime type stuff from her in an attempt to de-clutter one place and re-clutter another. We had a good talk, we know a lot of the same people, she's in Bird Scramble APA, knows a lot of the C/FO era fans that I either corresponded with or hung out with. It snowed on Saturday and got pretty messy, but Sunday it cleaned up and we did some old comic book shopping and some grocery shopping and some lunch. Watched some movies, cleaned the place up a little. Taking it a little easy. Hopefully it's not going to get as cold as it did last week. That was too much, man.
