mister kitty is back
Aug. 17th, 2012 12:24 pmWe are back from our vacation and resuming regularly scheduled updating of the Mister Kitty site with comics and found sound and original comics!
In case you're new, Mister Kitty is the website that Shain and I put together back in, gosh, 2005? 2005. We put it together to have an online space where we could share our own original comics, post wacky music we'd found, and make fun of a big pile of dumb comics in a way that didn't require us to kidnap everybody we knew and force them onto our couch so we could shove these things in their face. As a website it's been reasonably successful, and the Stupid Comics end of things has gotten a little media attention from time to time, though certain comics professionals with similar websites have, on occasion, gotten their panties in a twist over it. "Mister Kitty" is the name of a cat Shain had once, BTW.
Anyway, what's new since the trip are updates to Shain's strip Element Of Surprise and updates to my comic Zero Fighter. In fact, during the break I went back and re-drew several Zero Fighter pages that I was unhappy with or that I'd noticed problems with, and this week's update is actually a page inserted between the past two updates. I always thought I was a print media guy, but I do like being able to go back in and fix things.
This week's Found Sound is selections from a LP of medical-themed comedy by Dr. Doug Harrell, a North Carolina doctor who performed as a med student and liked it so much he recorded a few more tracks after graduation, and it's about as funny as you'd expect a 1960 comedy LP from a doctor to be.

And up at Stupid Comics we take a look at an issue of the 3-issue miniseries devoted to the 1980s cartoon phenomenon VOLTRON, the five-lion-combination Japanese cartoon series that surprised the world by its enduring popularity, though you wouldn't know it to look at this comic.

We update Found Sound on Wednesday nights, Stupid Comics on Thursday nights, and both Element Of Surprise and Zero Fighter go up Sunday nights. See you at Mister Kitty!!
