The latest Found Sound is up and it's full of cats! It's a jukebox playlist of Cattanooga Cats songs culled from their debut LP and right off the precious few episodes of the TV show we happen to have. Fine listenin' for any travelling you may be doing for any holiday related reasons. Also there's a 6-page Cattanooga Cats bonus comic in which Kitty Jo lives out their hit single and becomes a witch!!

So don't delay, start listening to the Cats today!

You know, the version of "My Girlfriend is a Witch" from that show is a really credible cover of the original version by The October Country!

Doing a little research, the connection between the two is Michael Lloyd, who was involved on the music side of the Catanooga Cats, as well as being in October Country, The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and The Smoke (not the U.K. band that did "My Friend Jack"). Apparently a lot of the Catanooga Cats songs came out of his previous projects.

The October Country version is a lot more bass-heavy, for some reason.

Cool! Thanks for sharing! I somehow stumbled upon Cattanooga Cats shorts on youtube a few years ago. I love how "Hoot Hoot Owl" uses paper cutouts for some of the animation! :3 If I ever get into animation, I'd definitely like to bring back fun methods like those used in the Cats videos as well as Sesame Street, etc. :D

It may be the way they digitized it. This version on youtube sounds better. Also, its the same lead singer for both versions!

I was watching those cartoons when Cartoon Network or Boomerang was playing them years back. Certainly 1969 has had some interesting moments on the tube (besides Scooby-Doo).
