This weekend we discovered that Gawker Media's servers were compromised, resulting in a security breach at Lifehacker, Gizmodo, Gawker, Jezebel, io9, Jalopnik, Kotaku, Deadspin, and Fleshbot. As a result, the user name and password associated with your comment account were released on the internet. If you're a commenter on any of our sites, you probably have several questions.

I don't even know what "Jalopnik" is. io9 is one of those Boing Boing Neatorama type sites that posts "cool links" to "cool things", their definition of "cool" being cakes people decorate to look like video games, computers people wear on their heads, things made out of Legos, and anything that has anything whatsoever to do with Star Wars. I think "Deadspin" is what Gawker Media's going to be going into shortly. And if you ever commented there, ever, apparently your comment account was hacked and your personal information distributed to Wikileaks who will soon be telling the world you like to comment on websites. So don't say you haven't been warned!

BTW, Gigantor says "Merry Christmas"!

Whew, makes me glad that I generally don't comment on websites outside of my friends' personal journals, etc. D: And to think that before this Wikileaks business started, I'd been thinking that I don't interact enough in the online anime community.

Tetsujin-28 looks like a giant Easter Egg with all of those colors!

I used to be really bad about having to make sure my two cents got included in every discussion I saw anywhere that I had an opinion about, but there aren't enough hours in the day to keep up with every debate everywhere. Anyway, the world will keep on turnin' whether I make my views known or not.

Agreed! I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit lurking on 4chan boards for entertainment from time to time, though it has reminded me on a constant basis how easy it is for crazy drama to break out.

Deadspin actually used to be pretty good for sports commentary, although the original editor (Will Leitch) is now at New York Magazine.

Lifehacker can also be interesting, especially if you happen to be procrastinating by learning about ways to not procrastinate.

I gave up on Jezebel a while ago.

"Jezebel" is my favorite song by Herman's Hermits! The Woggles do a great cover of it.

I'm pissed because I used to post on Consumerist when they were a Gawker site. Fortunately I don't think anything important has that same user/pass combo.
