So! started working daytime hours this week. Up early, out a little after the worst of the traffic, home at the tail end of rush hour. Still getting used to the schedule change but it's a good schedule change after I don't know how many years of working nights. I was working nights in 1999/2000, I think. When we moved here I had three or four months at the C.I.C.A. working days, but at Bowne I was on the midnight shift, and I did that for a year or so, and then I got onto afternoons, and I'd been there until now. Looking forward to being able to do things on weeknights and generally be out and about in step with the rest of the world. Bonus of being able to communicate with co-workers in real time, without having to leave emails that are dealt with the next day.

This week's Stupid Comics is all about British girls' comics from the early 60s utilizing ethnic and race stereotypes to reinforce dominant imperialist paradigms.

We went down to the CNE on Sunday before Labor Day. It was more crowded than last time, all the rides had long lines, the food was crazier than ever, and there was a "Star Trek" exhibit that was nicely framed fan art (I was hoping for TV props, but no such luck). And this sand sculpture.

In other news I have been spending pretty much every free moment working on AWA stuff. AWA's happening at the end of the month, I'll be in Atlanta from the 28th for it, if you need me I'll be down at the Waverly/Galleria!
