back in 2009 in Tokyo
Jul. 18th, 2016 04:21 pmBack in the summer of 2009 we visited Tokyo for the first time, and I wrote extensively about it here on my Livejournal. Recently I changed the privacy settings on a good chunk of this LJ, for no real reason other than "because I can", and those LJ posts about the trip went behind the 'friends only' wall. So I took those posts and boiled them down to a series of blog posts over at my Terebi Funhouse blog. So if you're interested in what we did in Japan seven years back, now's your chance see what we did.
Looking back, it strikes me that we weren't there for very long, that we were pretty conservative in what we attempted to do (shop, basically), and that we didn't spend a whole lot of time with actual Japanese people, instead meeting up with various friends from Canada and the States who were in the city. Our second trip rectified that somewhat, as we had a better idea of what we could accomplish and a wider network of contacts, as well as more time in the city and a hotel with a better location. I expect our third trip will be even more awesome.
