Monday was Canadian Thanksgiving. It's like the American Thanksgiving but with more denim. See, that's a joke about the "Canadian Tuxedo". Go ahead, Google it. I'll wait.

Anyway Shain cooked a turkey and stuffing and some cherry cobbler and potatoes and a salad and we stuffed ourselves and watched a turkey, "Exorcist II: The Heretic", which is a bad film, hands down, but it's a John Boorman film so it's filled with shiny things and great visuals. Every actor is punching way above their weight class except for Richard Burton who sleepwalks through the whole thing, playing the Worst Priest In Christendom, seriously, at one point a woman is telling him her troubles and he says "I'm not here for you." James Earl Jones puts on a giant grasshopper mask. Ned Beatty wanders in from an Indiana Jones film.

There's a great trailer for it here that makes the film look exciting and fast paced, and it is neither.

I had a 3 day weekend so I re-wired a lamp in the bathroom and replaced some bulbs and put some DVDs away in the MUJI storage drawers I bought at the MUJI store downtown, which is where I'll live someday, I love MUJI. Many of the DVDs are of short films and obscure Japanese or European things given to me by Mike and Danno, so, maybe the sixth or seventh stage of loss is "decluttering".

Slowly getting back into drawing. Been working with the Intuitos tablet but it's difficult moving into that space, trying to make it work with "traditional" inks. It might be better suited to more painterly tasks, coloring, laying down tones, etc. Shain's back to the Georgie Girls and you probably think this latest strip is about you, don't you.

Hadn't the resources to travel to Boston last weekend and I don't know that we're going to make it there before the end of the year, which is a pain because there are a bunch of friends there we want to see. After 2015 smacking us around, we want to spend more time with our friends. Everybody should come up here and visit, that's what I think. Anyway I spent some time on the phone today with several banking institutions and steps have been taken to make the future a little less expensive.

Halloween is on a Saturday this year so we might actually be able to go out and participate in some kind of Halloween thing, for once!
