11 days into '15
Jan. 11th, 2015 11:56 amand here we are! It's cold and a little snowy and we're just powering thru it. Watched some movies and ate some junk food on New Year's Eve. We went out and saw BIG EYES earlier in the day, Tim Burton's new Keane film. Have we embraced the Big Eye aesthetic sufficiently? See for yourself.

These are all confined to our bathroom, but at some point we're going to run out of space. Or taste.
Speaking of space, Mr Kitty's Stupid Comics is back and it's all about the space, or rather the stars, or to be more specific, the wars in the stars that the kids were all hepped up about in the late 1970s.

This was a whole series of comics written before anyone knew there was going to be anything like a series of films or an expanded universe of games and comics and TV shows, not to mention before anyone had decided that Luke and Leia were siblings. So there's a lot of off-message writing and some tonal shifts that might not have been in keeping with what a more controlling Lucasfilm would allow in later years. Which may drive more anal-retentive fans up the wall, but provides a rich alternate take on the material that, after decades of the heavy hand of George sanding down the rough edges, is refreshing.
Shain's ELEMENT OF SURPRISE is also back for 2015 to intrigue, thrill, and entertain! Sometimes all at once! So go check it out!
