some natural photos
Aug. 30th, 2014 12:14 pmThere were 4 things I had to get done before my birthday - 1, renew my health card, 2, get the emissions checked on the car, 3, get new stickers for the car tag, and 4, renew my driver's license. All four of those things have been done! My driver's license has a better photo but it's kind of scowly.
In a completely unrelated story, here are some photos of our recent adventures into The Natural World.
About a month ago we drove up to Collinwood and played vintage video games, etc. On the way back we detoured through back roads, as is our wont, and eventually wound up on dirt roads, which is kinda cool but also scary in that you never know when they're going to get so bad you need a 4x4 to get out, or when they're going to dead end into a weird compound of some kind.

This one drove past some bluffs that look majestic from afar, but when we parked and tried to get close, the insects were too much for us. And up there they BITE.

Last week we went back over to The Guild, this old Scarborough mansion that was at one time a high-end resort. The gardens are filled with old Toronto architectural sculptures and pieces from now-demolished buildings, and it's all on huge bluffs overlooking the lake.

One of our favorite places to walk is the York Regional Forest north of the city on the 404. I dunno, sometimes you just need to get out in the woods and bother the frogs. This one sat quietly.

Today is Shain's birthday so we're going to immerse ourselves in the swarms of humanity and visit The Ex! We will report back if we survive.
