Jul. 25th, 2014 12:25 amHere's some more photos of last week in Vancouver and Portland:

This is the gang in front of Bob's Rocket Pizza, 40+ years in the same location, thin crust, loaded with goodness.

It's right around the corner from where Shain went to elementary school, which is now a technical high school. Congrats 2014 grads!

This is quintessential downtown Portland - you got your Powell's Books bag on top of a table in the Ground Control arcade, across the street from Floating World Comics!

Also quintessential Portland is Klickitat Street, home of Ramona Quimby, star of "Beezus And Ramona" and many other Beverly Cleary books. Yes it's a real street! You'll also be happy to know that many streets in Portland were the inspirations for characters from the Simpsons.

Here's a shot of the horizon from the Pittock Mansion, you can see downtown and off in the distance, Mt. Hood covered in mid-July snow.

This giant downtown landmark sign at one point was advertising White Stag, the clothing company that Shain's dad worked for. Rather than being demolished, the city simply turned it into a civic landmark. At Xmas, the stag's nose is red.

And back in Vancouver, the Olympic Village housing co-op, which is very nice, has been invaded by giant sparrows. Run, run for your lives.
