free comic book daze
May. 3rd, 2014 11:46 amToday is free comic book day, so if you're going to participate, please BUY SOMETHING. Those comic books aren't free for the retailer - the retailer has to buy them. No, the vast corporations that own Marvel and DC Comics can't be bothered to kick in, and the monopoly that controls comic book distribution believes that advertising and promotion costs should be shouldered by your friendly neighborhood comic book retailer. So when you're in there for your free comic, spend some money.
Speaking of comic books this week's Stupid Comics is one of those Al Hartley Christian comics that's all about the American revolution and how we won our freedom because God blessed it so, or something. Features special guest appearances by Hitler, Stalin, the Ayatollah Khomeini, and the TRS-80 microcomputer.
