Been a mite warm in these parts the past few days. I don't think it's as bad as it was last summer, but it's pretty toasty. We should get some rain by the end of the week, maybe. Saturday we went out and ran some errands and then we took our bikes down to the Trash Palace to catch the second night of their Safety Film festival. It's been a while since I've been to the Trash Palace since I got on the Fridays schedule, they've made a few changes to the space but otherwise it's the same fine Trash Palace experience. The bike is handling well, the tires are still holding air and the rear brakes work again. I really need to get some lights if I'm going to be riding it at night. On the way back we stopped for coffee at a local place; we just sat outside and watched people walking their dogs or returning drunkenly from the night's festivities.

At some point during the weekend we went downtown to visit the Silver Snail's new location, above the new Five Guys at Yonge & Dundas Square, smack dab in the middle of everything. It's a perfect location for catching the impulse-buying tourist crowd, and plenty of locals move through the area too. They do need to open a warehouse 'bargain bin' location, though; this new store has less retail space for the vital clearance items and quarter bins so necessary for my consumer experience.

Movie scorecard this summer so far: STAR TREK's cast remains fun and likeable, increasingly tied down by past-enslaved script. IRON MAN 3's cast remains fun and likeable & script is zippy and smart, mostly. Nobody saw THE LONE RANGER. MAN OF STEEL is thudding, dour, and shot in muted browns and grays, like Detroit in late fall. Have yet to see PACIFIC RIM.

Patrik W. started a daily sketch challenge on FB and I've been doing a sketch a day. How long can I keep this up?
