wolf weekend
Nov. 13th, 2012 12:39 amWent out to see WOLF CHILDREN as part of the Reel Asian Film Festival on Saturday night; we won tickets via Anime North. Line was around the block, the theater was jam packed, the movie was heartwarming and sad and a tad long and jeez, I know it's not trying to do a furry thing but it comes close sometimes. I mean it's wolves.

We got rained on after the movie, then we dropped David off down at SF Contario, which is a new SF convention in town, and then we vainly tried to find something to eat, but every place we wanted to eat at was closed, so I cooked pork chops and we watched reruns of THE OFFICE all night long because that's what's getting rerun over and over these days. Not that I mind, that's a funny show.
Sunday I spent the day installing my new car stereo because the CD player in the old one died dead. Had to strip the wires and wire them up to the harness kit, which meant I had to get some electrical tape. Watched a video online of how to take off the panels, went out and took them panels off and took that old radio out and put that new radio right in and it works nicely. Has a USB input and an AUX input and changes colors. OOOooo.
Have not yet seen the new James Bond though I want to very much. Sometime this upcoming weekend we'll do it.
Of course Sunday means Zero Fighter and Element Of Surprise and you should go check 'em out. I had to do some car research and some street research and it took me longer than I thought it was going to, but my Zero Fighter time is my listenin' to records time and that's a nice time so I don't begrudge it. I listened to a bunch of Talking Heads LPs starting with "77" and PIL's "First Issue" and The Replacements "Tim" and Jefferson Airplane's "Crown Of Creation" just to change things up.
Hotel rooms at the Radisson and the Doubletree for Anime North 2013 are SOLD OUT. Already! The convention isn't for six months! They haven't announced any guests or events or anything! We're back at the Sheraton again. I like the Sheraton, I just don't like the hike. I think this puts the nix on any plans for Nomonoichi yard-sale thing. I mean, I sold damn near everything I wanted to get rid of LAST year; I can't see hauling a box o' junk up to the TCC again. Anyways it eats into my pre-Hell eating time. Anime North 2013! See ya there!
