it's tuesday already
Jun. 19th, 2012 11:48 amWhere does the time go??
Went out Saturday in the traffic to get outta town, went up to Lindsay to a couple of antique places. Well, one antique place and one downright junk store, and one store that sold old records, and old video games, and old VHS tapes, and shiny new bongs. Then we went up to Sturgeon Lake and had lunch and wandered around and saw a turtle, and then we sort of followed our nose across the back roads until we reached civilization, and we got some light bulbs and groceries and a gadget or two. Sunday we had hot dogs at that Parkdale hot dog place the kids are raving about and then Donald and David came over and we watched some stuff and talked con gossip. We stayed up way too late watching movies and I was feeling it all day yesterday.
Anyway, as always there are updates of Element of Surprise and Zero Fighter for your enjoyment. I inked most of that Zero Fighter page while on the phone with Danno, so it was kind of like old times there, I used to do a lot of inking while on the phone. I had my studio set up in the basement and I had this giant vintage rotary phone that I had to buy a special thing for at Radio Shack just to get it wired in to the house phone line, and I'd be at my table inking something for Animanga or an Ozone Commandos story, while chatting about, I dunno, starting AWA or Robotech or Phenomicon or the Christian Crusade or Anime X or who was fighting with who, or something.
Anyway, we also have the latest installment of Stupid Comics in which Aquaman and Aqualad battle each other in a tale of underwater Olympics that modern comics would no doubt turn into a company-wide crossover event involving 15 separate comics, but the silver age dispensed of in eight pages.

Also: been writing a new Let's Anime column and we're planning our summer trip. Stay tuned!
