Let's see, what else have we been up to...
Bought a couple of cheap used bikes down at http://www.thepublicbutter.com/ on Queen and spent Saturday getting them home, getting air in the tires, test-riding them around the neighborhood. My seat needs to be lowered and the hex bolt is kinda unworkable with my primitive tools so it might need a trip to the bike shop. They aren't, you know, long distance rally bikes, just goofin' around the neighborhood bikes.

I am working days for more or less the rest of the summer, a weird 3-on, 4-off shift to cover for vacationing co-workers. We'll see how well that goes. I have a lot of ambitious plans for my extra days off and they will probably come to nothing.
Saw the live Yamato movie with Donald and David last night. I have some nit-picky issues with it, but it's about as good as you're going to get in terms of live-action adaptations of Japanese cartoons. It certainly hits all the notes it can from the TV series. NO I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO BE RELEASED IN AMERICA. No wait, it came out last April, I guess you missed it.
Been struggling with a pack of Verbatim DVD-Rs for what, half a year? The LG recorder hates 'em and I didn't know if it was the LG dying or the discs - usually Verbatims are good. Well, bought some HP discs and they are working like magic and I'm back to converting old tapes to DVD. I will probably have a bunch of "free with purchase" VHS to hand out at the SF Flea Market in September so you should come to Toronto and get 'em.
Haven't seen any of the summer movies yet. Not going to SDCC or Otakon or Fan Expo or any other big summer convention. I do plan on going up to a lake somewhere and going swimming at some point while it's still hot and I have some weekdays free.
