Oh yeah, I did manage to snag a table for Anime North's garage sale type event, the Nominoichi, which is going to be Friday night at 7 in one of the exhibit halls. Not the Sheraton as was in past years. This means I do a panel at 5, at 6 I have to be at the hall setting up, and then I sell stuff until about 9 or 9:20 and then it's over to the Doubletree for Anime Hell. And then at midnight I retire to the hotel bar.
That's ANIME NORTH, May 27-29.
I missed selling at the Nomi last year due to scheduling conflicts - Friday is a busy day - but we did manage to get into the room and shop and it was literally jam packed, wall to wall people scoping out bargains. I'm glad it's moving to a new, larger room. My dream wish is for it to move to Thursday night so as to not interfere with other events, but AN is not big on Thursday night events. Most of the con starts at 5pm on Friday and there's a lot of institutional inertia involved in evolving the corporate paradigm into a more synergistic orchestration that reflects the needs of the day to day consumers.
Still, we have a big stack of stuff to sell. Shain has a lot of doubles of old MAD magazines we'll be unloading at bargain prices, I have anime VHS that desperately needs a new home, some video games, a few toys, old Harvey comics, etc. Bring money!
