monday already!!!
Nov. 8th, 2010 11:53 amYesterday I got up, noticed the time change (totally forgot about it), and then saw that Yoshinobu Nishizaki had drowned in the Bonin Islands at age 75. So that was kind of a wacky start to the day. Went to the AN staff meeting and it was pretty productive and I had a nice couple of hours chatting with folks about this and that. They should have coffee and donuts at these things, it'd be even more like the socials you have after church service. Got home, had a really good sandwich at the Liberty Village Market, worked on the Zero Fighter, Donald and David came over and we watched some Dirty Pair episodes - yes, box set part 1 came in and it's pretty awesome - and then I screened the AWA Hell for them and then we watched Blue Sonnet because the theme song is stuck in my head.
And then I finished Zero Fighter for this week, which took longer than I thought and really brought home the time change. In fact you can see exactly when I said "to hell with it" and wrapped the page up with a hacky cheap shortcut. But - and this is the important part - it got done. I am going to have to go in and redo some faces on some pages because the "making it up as you go" thing really doesn't work for hair styles. I'm kind of at a stopping point in this chapter, but I would really like to pad it out for three more weeks, and then take December off and get a little caught up. Might be three pages of landscapes coming up, so look out!!
Tim Eldred got to see the live action Yamato picture and he has a sneak preview up at the Otaku USA website - by all accounts it's a winner and I can't wait to see this one myself. Maybe we'll have to drive to the FantAsia festival again, maybe somebody here in town will get it for a local film festival, maybe it'll play at TIFF, maybe somebody will get their head out of the sand and put it on DVD here. But I'm GONNA see it. And that's the weekend, which also included the wedding of Randy and Kimbery, best wishes to the happy couple!!
