1. It's rainy and gloomy out there. Ugh!

4. Comics Comics has a thing about Coober Skeeber, the "Marvel benefit" anthology Highwater published back when Marvel Comics was going through bankruptcy. I loved the concept - a bunch of alt-indy cartoonists doing their takes on Marvel characters - and it's something that Marvel and DC would pretty much appropriate wholesale for various projects. It was the first time I was exposed to many of the Fort Thunder school of 'cute brut' artists. And strangely enough it was the last time many of them produced work I enjoyed reading. Holy cow did that whole twee effete sketchy line deliberately naive thing get old with a quickness.

5. And now the sun's out. Hooray!

all night long

Toronto's all-night ARTSAPALOOZA, Nuit Blanche returns this weekend to Liberty Village (and the rest of the city). Yeah, kind of snuck up on me there. Last year it was kinda kool to walk around the neighborhood and see all the art and feel all sophistikated. This year we'll be doing the same, so if you're going to be in The Village (as we call it{we being "me, right now"}) come on by and we'll wander through the art as a menacing posse!

After last year my intention for this year was to get a projector and some kind of a screen and show crazy video to the parking lot. I don't know if time will permit me to accomplish my Dreams Of Conceptual Art this year, but darn it, I'm going to try.

If you are NOT interested in Art then I advise you to avoid Toronto altogether on Saturday night. It's going to be all arty up in there.
