back from outer space
Jul. 19th, 2010 10:57 amWe did it, all the way to Montreal and back on about 4 hours of sleep and a couple of tanks of gas. The new Yamato film is terrific; looks great, there are a lot of cosmic outer space scenes that are gorgeous and need to be seen in a theater, and apart from a sinful lack of much of the original crew, it is a good solid Yamato picture and should be an entertaining experience for all, especially if you can manage to see it without two Quebecois sitting behind you laughing whenever characters do or say anything manly or awesome. Still, even they applauded at the end. Such is the power of the Yamato.
Montreal is a really great city. The drivers are everything I'd been told about, and more. Streets are narrow, confusing, and in a state of repair. We rolled into town around 11pm on Saturday night and the place was jam packed and seemingly stayed that way until we left town on Sunday afternoon. It's a town that deserves more time and better language skills on my part because you know how Canada is bilingual? Not Quebec.
Took a lot of detours following the St. Lawrence on the way home, took a lot of pix, the camera's in the car and I am not going out to get it, because after 3 days of 12 hour shifts and drivin', this is my down time.
