spring forth, burly protector

There's nothing like a weird-lookin' stuffed dog that changes expressions to make children feel protected from things that go bump in the night. Don't believe me? We've got a whole comic book to prove it!

Yes, not even free promotional comic books are free from the baleful gaze of Mister Kitty's Stupid Comics. Apologies to any whose childhood memories were scarred by our sarcastic mocking.

This is the moment where I finally crack and openly declare my loathing for eyes drawn as bubbles side-by-side (or worse yet, as one mass with barely any division between them)

when i noticed sonic's eyes for the first time, i was like, WHAT

I used to draw like that when I was little. I blame Sonic the Hedgehog

"What? Smile? Fuck you, man, I got out of bed at some hellish hour just to pose for-- yeah, yeah, yeah. Just draw the fucking picture."

My stuffed toy dog protected me from under-the-bed monsters (one that came from a nightmare and gives me the creeps to this day), but he was nowhere near as dumb-looking as these toy and comic designs. The concept was good. The execution? Not so much.

Wow. Even though I once researched obscure '80s toys (ASK ME ABOUT SPINJAS), I'd never heard of these things before.

The highlight of the comic is easily the panel where Rascal glares menacingly at the reader, clearly willing to tear out the throat of any would-be crayon thief.

That was a pretty cool line right there!

Didn't take me long to realized I remember this godawful thing from back in the day....
