we swear to god we have a cat

Some visitors hear us speak of a "cat", but no one has ever seen this mythical beast, because she's got a case of the shys and hides from guests. Even though guests would totally give her pettings. There's no explaining things to that cat.

Anyway, here's proof this cat exists, in one of her favorite spots, which is to hide under a blanket and sleep.

One day we'll have a cat that isn't insane. Someday.

Aw, she looks like a sweetheart. I think all cats are insane to some degree. My 3 legged cat drives me nuts.

She's friendly to us, but when the phone rings or somebody knocks at the door there's a mad dash to get under cover before THE MONSTERS COME.

BTW, did you get that package yet?

The 3 legged cat burrows under the sheets whenever somebody stops over at the Edstead and cries sad squeaky mews to me.

Nothing has shown up recently. I'll check with Ed to see if he's noticed any packages.

You should have a box of Look & Learns showing up this week. Sadly I was not able to get any copies of the Welsh edition, which is titled "Llook & Llearn".

It was waiting for me when I got home. Man, I love these. I gotta break out the scanner and post some of the covers.

Thanks!

I do apologize for the musty smell and the possible hostile micro-organisms that may be lurking within those pages - they sat in a box in a basement somewhere for 20 years. I did what I could to kill whatever bugs may have been in there, but lord knows what the Texas environment will bring forth. I suggest giving them a good hosing with Lysol and then putting them in a sealed box for a day or so, and then exposing them to direct sunlight for a few hours.

I laid them out to air last night. Just doing that fixed 'em up pretty good.

I spread them all out on the balcony for an afternoon when we got them, and I did a thing I read about where you're supposed to seal them up in a bag with some alcohol and let the alcohol evaporate and kill everything real good, but I don't know how well that worked.

It's a real struggle for me; as a neat freak I hate having musty, funky, possibly moldy stuff in the house, but as a junkoholic I can't avoid musty, funky, possibly moldy stuff. Full of contradictions.

I dunno, once you get the Crazy Cat Fu, sane cats just don't seem to come around. Or maybe sane cats become crazy in one's vicinity, hard to tell which.

Mom had a crazy cat. She (the kitty) was a nice, loving little gray furball until she went in to be fixed. somehow in the process they broke her and she became an insane beast. Like purring one moment then trying to claw your hand to death, hissing and spitting and hiding. Her big joy was to be let out into the garage where she would climb up this rack near a bunch of paint cans and just veg out. I think she was huffing paint fumes because she was the prototypical 'boneless cat' and could be picked up and carried after a couple hours in the garage.

She died like a year later.

My brother has cats that are so indifferent to each other. One would meow if you show the slightest attention to it or even touch it, the other just keeps wanting affection and often you scratch it's back in a certain spot, he loses control altogether and goes on a licking/biting maneuver, depending on how hard/fast you do it! I usually don't see them very often as my interest in felines has wain greatly over the years.

I have one that does that, but with all the others in the house, she is never missed:P
