Manga Thoughts: They Were 11!

With the continued impression manga releases from Denpa keep missing release date after release date before they’re available for purchase at last, there was some element of “trying to help the company” in my mind when I ordered a copy of They Were 11! When that manga arrived, though, I was a bit impressed by its oversized pages and production values, including not just colour plates at the front but “semi-coloured” pages within.

News: What did I say?

It was actually one of the guys at Police who asked me the question.

"Does our HR team use Workday's 'HiredScore' AI to screen applicants?"

The issue at hand here is there is a lawsuit, and now there are questions on if qualified applicants were automatically turned down because they were over forty. This could be a huge problem.

Having learned this is happening, it does explain some of what I've seen out there. HR departments are depending more and more on AI to "weed" out applicants because there are "just too many."

Bitch, if you need AI to do your job, you deserve to be replaced by one. Let them dig their own graves.

I cannot wait for this horrific bubble to burst.

Something of a Snow Job

After setting up a series of TRS-80 emulators on my “Linux portable” and compiling an Apple II emulator there as well, my thoughts turned to Mini vMac. I’ve used that particular program for some years; perhaps the thought of trying out one more way to get it running was more enticing than a different thought that “if I wind up moving to Linux, this will maintain one connection to at least the Macintosh in days of yore...”

The Twilight Zone: The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine

As Rod Serling’s preview began to attach a bit of meaning to the impending title “The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine” a week ago, I did wonder just what I’d make of the episode once I’d seen it. While I make a certain show of seldom managing to broaden my scope by watching old movies, I once found the time to see Sunset Boulevard. The episode coming up did appear to have a similar plot.
It’s different in The Twilight Zone )
