Aw, I liked Thor. :( Maybe it helps to be attracted to dudes. IDK. At least you liked Captain America, I'm so sick of hearing everyone bitch about how supposedly bad that movie was. Lrn2SOURCEMATERIAL
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked - I love seeing adults complain about these movies. They are all outraged that somebody would make movies starring cartoon chipmunks! News flash people - these are children's movies, for children.
I don't get this argument. So it's okay to make a shitty movie if it's "just" for kids? Don't people have a higher regard for children's entertainment than that?
Cowboys & Aliens - Neither? Is that OK? Thanks.
My mother-in-law dragged my husband and I to see this lousy movie JUST because it had Daniel Craig in it. I don't care if it had the exhumed body of Laurence Olivier in it, the movie looked like a pile of shit and it was shit. Then we had to listen to her talk about how great it was afterward. This is a woman who constantly complains about overuse of CGI special effects in films.
Super 8 - didn't see this one either. One too many gushing reviews of how Abrams was really channeling Spielberg in the 80s - when Spielberg was at his MOST ANNOYING.
I kind of liked the child actors in this movie so I guess that's why it was mildly enjoyable for a while, until the very end of the movie where it just turned into utter shit for the reasons you mentioned (annoying 80s Spielberg). Also, J.J. Abrams lensflare EVERYWHERE, even in random interior scenes. Yes, really.
Still need to see Rango (I feel like a creep going to see children's movies by myself and my husband never wants to go with me) and I don't care if its uncanny valley or not, a Tintin movie is a Tintin movie and my inner 12 year old is super excited about it.
